At 61, Ni Xialian, affectionately known as “Ping Pong Grandma,” competed joyfully in the Paris Olympics. Facing 23-year-old Chinese star Sun Yingsha, she made a memorable appearance despite not making it past the round of 32. Ni’s stunning 360-degree spin shot and her affectionate moment with husband-coach Tommy Danielsson were highlights.
