In an unforgettable race at the 2024 Paris Olympics, China’s men’s 4x100m medley relay team dethroned the United States, ending their 40-year winning streak in this event. The American team, which had won 10 consecutive Olympic golds in the medley relay, was overtaken by China in a dramatic final.

The Chinese relay team, composed of Xu Jiayu, Qin Haiyang, Sun Jiajun, and Pan Zhanle, delivered a powerful performance, clocking in at 3:27.46 to claim the gold medal. The USA, despite leading at two points during the race, could not maintain their advantage and finished with a silver medal at 3:28.01. France completed the podium by taking the bronze with a time of 3:28.38.
